Bio

Professor Bruce Brew AM is Head of the Neurosciences Program at St Vincent's Centre for Applied Medical Research, and the Director of the Peter Duncan Neurosciences Research Unit at St Vincent's Centre for Applied Medical Research. Prof. Brew is an experienced neurologist with a particular interest in dementia, neurological complications of immune deficiencies, and infections of the nervous system. His research focuses on these areas of interest, and aims to understand and how to treat various brain diseases, stop damage processes and repair the brain. Prof. Brew is also involved in teaching and holds appointments as a Conjoint Professor at the University of New South Wales and Professor at the University of Notre Dame. He has served on the editorial boards of several prominent journals, been a member of several international advisory boards, published over 500 papers, authored four books, and has over 35,000 citations (H-index 98 by Google Scholar).
