Professor Greg Dore is Head of the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program, Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney, and Infectious Diseases Physician at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. Prof. Dore established the St Vincent’s Hospital viral hepatitis service in 1999 and has guided its development into one of the leading hepatitis C treatment services in Australia and internationally. The service has a particular focus on marginalised populations, including people who inject drugs and homeless persons. In therapeutic research, Prof. Dore’s key areas of focus include the treatment of acute and chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, particularly in the setting of injecting drug use. His research also focuses on HIV and HCV coinfection, and HIV and hepatitis B (HBV) coinfection.
