Accreditation Success
St Vincent’s AMR as part of St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney, is aligned with the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework, which builds on the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards to support the integration of clinical trials into routine hospital care and the provision of safe, high-quality clinical trial service delivery.
In our drive for continuous improvement, our adoption of this Framework means that we have strong clinical trials governance and champion the engagement of consumers at every stage of the clinical trials lifecycle. In practice, this means that we have multidisciplinary research units across the St Vincent’s Sydney Health Innovation Precinct who work collaboratively on initiatives that consolidate a wealth of clinical research knowledge and experience under one umbrella.
An outstanding achievement for the St Vincent’s Hospital Network Sydney research community has been achieving a rare 3/3 mature systems ACSQHC rating during our National Standards Accreditation in 2024. This is an extraordinary showcase of St Vincent’s thriving research community and the passion for patient advocacy and optimising patient care through research. Assessors feedback was that St Vincent’s is leading in this space, with exceptional integration between our Clinical Trials and Clinical treatments. This is the value of St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research, where knowledge is shared between the lab, bedside, and back again.
Demonstrated in each clinical trial team interview was a clear understanding of the importance of integrated clinical trials services that meet the needs of our local community. Assessors were impressed by the alignment of our Clinical Trials with our Mission, with our prioritisation of social justice and helping those who otherwise may not be prioritised. One assessor remarked that we “deserve to speak with pride about the work done” here through our Clinical Trials.
This phenomenal result is reflective of St Vincent’s commitment to optimising our clinical trials and the investment our research community has made in promoting, supporting and enhancing the quality of clinical research across the campus.
