Professor Christopher Hayward is the Director of the Mechanical and Circulatory Support Research Program at St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research.
Prof. Hayward is a heart failure and transplant cardiologist, who also works at St Vincent’s Public and Private Hospitals in Darlinghurst, Sydney. His research interests lie in the haemodynamics of cardiac failure and advanced heart failure management, particularly the development of temporary and durable mechanical support devices.
In addition to being a current Professor of Medicine at the University of New South Wales and Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology Sydney, Prof. Hayward is also a past Chairman of the Heart Failure Working Group of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
